Hear from our Music teacher…

My name is Beth Ellen Rosenbaum and I am so excited to start a new musical school year with your children.  There is never a dull moment in our music and movement classes as we hardly ever sit down!  In a typical class, we’ll start with a fun gathering activity that warms up body, voice, and mind and proceed to learning new songs and musical games.  Puppets, musical picture books, and colorful percussion instruments will delight our younger learners; our older children will play in ensemble on Redwood’s wonderful collection of Orff xylophones.   This summer I received my certification in World Music Pedagogy from Smithsonian Folkways, and I am thrilled to announce that we’ll be doing some African drumming and Brazilian children’s games, among other surprises!

In addition to teaching classroom music at Redwood, I teach private piano lessons through the Redwood Piano Studio.  Weekly thirty-minute lessons are offered in fifteen-week sessions each semester.  Lessons start at the end of the school day, from3:15pm-5:45pm.
