Our Redwood students are learning about and showing examples of leadership skills all the time. They exhibit this by making good choices in their social interactions, by setting a good examples in how we care for each other and the planet, by being responsible for their bodies and choosing words wisely, by eagerly taking on academic challenges, or even just stopping to help a friend. Sometimes, they even have the opportunity to be leaders in the community as well.
In May, our oldest students were invited to attend the Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools Youth Summit. Our school was recognized for its achievement in environmental stewardship and participation in the Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools program. Our participating students viewed projects from schools across the state, participated in hands on learning activities, heard a key note speech by the Kentucky Commissioner of Education, Stephen Pruitt, and accepted an award on behalf of our school. They did a great job representing our school at a state event; please congratulate them!
